INGREDIENT NOTES:
CHICKEN BREAST:
- Chicken is the main ingredient in this pie recipe. We use the lean one so that it keeps the WW points lower. Also, this one has protein in it, which is a healthy choice. An alternative can include turkey breast.
CABBAGE:
- We use cabbage as it is the main ingredient as well. The pie becomes fulfilling due to its addition. Cabbage contains fiber, and it does not increase caloric count. It becomes soft once we bake the pie. For substitution, you may use cauliflower (shredded).
LOW-SODIUM VEGETABLE BROTH:
- Using vegetable broth will not include any fat. Also, we need an alternative to oil for this WW recipe, hence we use this broth for pan-frying the vegetables. You may also use just water or chicken broth.
FAT-FREE GREEK YOGURT:
- Since this is fat-free, it will not include any fats in the pie dish. Also, it will not include many WW points. This ingredient will make the pie dish creamy. Another thing you can use instead of this is fat-free sour cream.
EGGS:
- Eggs are useful in combining the ingredients together for this pie. The pie will not break when you cut it. Egg whites will also work fine in place of full eggs.
SEASONINGS:
- All the seasonings that we will be using in this recipe do not include any WW points or calories. Also, these make the pie taste better. Another idea for these seasonings can be Italian seasoning.
