INGREDIENTS:

  • One cup of buttermilk or almond milk without sugar
  • Half a frozen banana
  • 1 & 2 drops of peppermint (not mint) extract
  • One scoop of sugar-free dry vanilla pudding mix
  • A single tablespoon of optional fat-free whipped topping
  • A couple of green food coloring drops
  • One tablespoon of stevia or monk fruit, or another calorie-free sweetener
  • 1 cup of ice cubes

INGREDIENT NOTES:

Almond Milk:

  • Take unsweetened so as to maintain the points low. You may also use skimmed milk or oat milk. Choose a milk without sugar.

Frozen Banana:

  • This makes it creamy and sweet. Half of a banana is sufficient. It assists in thickening the shake.

Peppermint Extract:

  • Use merely a drop or two. It is quite powerful. Mint extract is being avoided, as it is evident that it tastes otherwise.

Pudding Mix:

  • To thicken and flavour the preparation, sugar-free vanilla pudding is added. Dry mix only, no preparation.

Sweetener:

  • Stevia or Monk fruit makes the shake sweet yet without calories. Depending on your taste, add in.

Food Coloring:

  • This makes the shake a green color. The end justifies the means. It is optional, in case you need something natural.

Ice Cubes:

  • Chill the shake and make it thick. Bend smoothly.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Pour the almond milk into the blender.
  2. Put the frozen banana in there.
  3. Add the extract of peppermint.
  4. Put the sweetener & pudding mix.
  5. Mix a few drops of food coloring.
  6. Finally, add the ice cubes.
  7. Blend till everything is silky and creamy.
  8. If necessary, adjust the sweetness or mint by tasting.
  9. Transfer to glasses.
  10. If using, garnish with fat-free whipped topping.
  11. Use a straw to serve WW Shamrock-Like Shake chilled.

TIPS:

  • To give it a natural color of green, put in spinach instead of food coloring.
  • The frozen cauliflower will make the shake thicker without a banana flavor.
  • Put a pinch of cocoa/an addition of mini chocolate chips as a topping (add points).
  • Pour it over a cold glass to make the shake stay colder.
  • Freeze one as a minty popsicle & make a double batch of it.

STORAGE INFORMATION:

Fridge:

  • It should not be stored there. New is the finest. Keep in a sealed jar up to 1 day, should it be required. And shake it up again/mix it together, before serving.

Freeze:

  • Put the leftovers into a small container/popsicle mold. It can be used as a frozen dessert/a minty ice cream once it freezes.

FAQs:

Can you make this non-dairy?

  • Yes. Drink almond milk, or oat milk, or soy. In case you need to, use coconut whipped topping. To evade hidden sugars, read labels.

I forget the banana, can I?

  • Yes. To texture, use frozen avocado or frozen cauliflower. You can add an additional sweetener when doing without the banana.

Does it taste like a real Shamrock Shake?

  • Yes. It has the identical creamy, mint flavor but fewer calories. It is quite light and yet tasty.

Can children drink this also?

  • Yes. It is child-friendly and harmless. Watch out for the mint extract, it is powerful.
