Air-fryer Apple Pie Bombs

Air-fryer Apple Pie Bombs are a delicious and entertaining way to enjoy all the tastes of an apple pie without having to deal with the trouble of making your own pie. The apple pie filling is placed inside store-bought biscuit dough, which is then air-fried. The Air-fryer Apple Pie Bombs are coated with sugar and apple pie spices after being dipped in butter for taste. These are delicious and prepare quickly in only thirty minutes. Serve these bombs with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for the tasty combination.

EQUIPMENT:

  • Knife

INGREDIENTS:

  • ¾ cup sugar granules
  • One cup apple pie filling
  • 3 tsp. apple pie spice
  • One can Pillsbury Grand biscuits
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter

INGREDIENTS OVERVIEW:

APPLE PIE SPICE:

  • To enhance the flavor of apple pie spice, it is included in the coating. Make the homemade apple pie spice if you want. If you can’t find any apple pie spice, you might use a cinnamon and sugar coating.

CANNED BISCUITS:

  • For this recipe, I used store-brought biscuits. It was simple, and the air fryer produced a lovely golden brown. You may also use puff pastry dough or pie crust dough to create these.

APPLE PIE FILLING:

  • I mixed the store-bought filling with a spoon of cinnamon to add slight more spiciness, in my opinion. Cut the apples into tiny pieces as well. However, you might not need the extra cinnamon if you are preparing this filling at home.

GRANULATED SUGAR:

  • It will add the sweet taste in this dessert and also aids to make the crisp outer coating. You can also make the caramelized sugar with it. You can also use the brown sugar with it to provide a deep taste.

BUTTER:

  • Butter will add a rich flavor and also help in sticking the sugar to the bombs. It also helps to provide the crispiness in these bombs.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Mix the apple pie spice and sugar in a vessel and put it in the corner.
  2. After taking the biscuits out of the container, peel each one to create two layers. Each biscuit layer should be pressed into a 4-inch circle. (You’ll have sixteen circles.)
  3. Mix the apple pie filling and cinnamon in a small basin. Combine by mixing.
  4. Place a spoonful or so of the pie filling & cinnamon mix in the center of each circle.
  5. Pinch to seal after folding the sides together with your fingertips. Roll into spherical shapes.
  6. Spray the oil in the basket.
  7. Place the balls in an air fryer basket about two inches apart, working in batches. Apply cooking spray to the tops.
  8. Now air fry these bombs for 8-9 minutes or till they get golden.
  9. The balls should be carefully taken out of the air fryer and dipped in melted butter.
  10. Roll each bomb into the mix of sugar and apple pie spices. Continue with the rest of the batches.
  11. Serve at room temperature or right away.

TIPS:

  • Tightly seal the biscuits so the filling will not leak.
  • Avoid adding a large quantity of bombs in the air fryer so they get crisp well.
  • Spray the oil lightly so the bombs will not stick in the basket.

FAQs:

Can we bake these bombs?

  • Indeed! Follow the same directions and bake them, if required. Bake the bombs on a parchment-containing tray for 15 to 17 minutes after preheating the oven to 375°F. After they are fully cooked, coat them with the apple pie spice and sugar mixture and dip them in the melted butter. Have fun!

Which Air Fryer Is the Best?

  • After testing three different kinds at home, I suggest the Ninja Air Fryer. It is better at producing consistent results and is also easier to use; you may go up a size if necessary. This air fryer has made me extremely delighted!

How can we freeze these bombs?

  • Once the bombs are baked, let them cool properly. They should then be frozen on a baking sheet. They may be kept in a bag for three months. Make sure to date and mark the container.
