Ingredients

  • Firm Bananas 2
  • Lemon Juice 1tbsp
  • Olive Oil 2tsp
  • Black pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Brown sugar, 1tsp
  • Salt 1/2tsp

Ingredients Notes

Bananas: I used firm bananas instead of soft ones. Because ripe (soft) bananas will become mushy during air-frying.
Lemon juice: It is used to give a zesty flavor. Both homemade and store-bought lemon juice are effective.
Olive Oil: We used olive oil so chips stuck to the air fryer. Cooking spray is also an option.
Black pepper and salt: Both these items are used as a seasoning.
Brown Sugar: I used this item to add a little sweet flavor.

Instructions

  1. Take two bananas and remove the outer layer.
  2. Next, place the bananas on a cutting board and cut them into fine slices using a knife.
  3. After that, add lemon juice, black pepper, brown sugar, salt, and olive oil to a small dish.
  4. Mix well all seasonings with the help of a spoon.
  5. Next, place the sliced bananas in this bowl.
  6. Coat each side of the banana very well.

Air-fryer

  1. Adjust the heat of the air fryer to 350 Fahrenheit for 4/5 minutes.
  2. Shift the coated bananas into the air fryer basket in straight directions.
  3. Drizzle over a small quantity of olive oil to avoid stickiness.
  4. Simmer it for 9–11 minutes in an air fryer or until crunchy.
  5. After 11 minutes, place the chips on a serving plate.
  6. The crispy chips are ready. Serve it with homemade ketchup or sauce.

Oven

  1. Heat the oven to 180 degrees for 7/9 minutes.
  2. Grease the baking tray bottom with olive oil.
  3. Next, transfer the coated bananas to the baking tray.
  4. Bake it (according to the mentioned temperature and time) in a heated oven.
  5. After that, shift the baked chips into a small bowl.
  6. Enjoy it with any Weight Watchers-friendly dipping sauce.

Storage Information

Fridge: We place the leftover bananas in the sealed jar or container and refrigerate them for 3/4 days. You can’t store the bananas in the refrigerator for more than 4/5 days because they will lose their texture.
Freezer: We are unable to freeze the chips for future use. The flavor and texture will vanish after freezing.
Reheating: You can reheat the refrigerated chips in the air fryer for 4/5 minutes or in a microwave oven for 1/2 minutes.

I recommended using unripe bananas instead of ripe and dark brown. Unripe bananas hold their texture firmly and taste less sweet than ripe bananas. You can use plantain bananas instead of regular Cavendish dessert bananas.
