Keto Chimichurri Steak Sauce

Keto Chimichurri Steak Sauce is an ideal sauce recipe to go with any type of steak. This sauce takes the dinner of steak to the next level. The origin of this sauce is Argentina. It has different versions around the different countries of the globe. The recipes around the world differ only in one or two ingredients having the same signature test. Keto Chimichurri Steak Sauce & steak complement each other so well. It feels like they are only made for each other. You will make the dish with so much ease & store it for a longer period in the freezer. It gets ready in only 5 minutes. It involves only a little chopping (which you can make easy using the food processor) & mixing.

EQUIPMENT:

  • Mixing bowl 1
  • Food processor
  • Jar with resealable lid (storage)

INGREDIENTS:

  • Half a cup oil of olives
  • 1 chili pepper
  • Italian parsley (fresh), 30 g
  • Two heads of garlic
  • To taste powdered peppercorn
  • 1/4th cup of vinegar (apple cider vinegar)
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tbsp of oregano.

INGREDIENT NOTES:

GARLIC:
We are including uncooked garlic here that has a strong taste. So, it is better to not exceed two garlic cloves. They give the classic addition to the taste of our sauce.

CHILI PEPPER:
We use it to add a spicy touch to the sauce as its nature is spicy. Use more chili peppers if you want more heat. If you can’t tolerate the heat of the spice then reduce it to only half of the chili pepper. It is up to your taste.

OREGANO:
Using oregano takes this sauce to the next level. If you have fresh oregano leaves available then you will have a lot more taste.

OIL:
This recipe doesn’t recommend you to use any other oil. The classical taste of this sauce is due to the oil of olives (extra-virgin). So, we should stick to this.

PARSLEY:
Fresh parsley leaves are the signature ingredient of the original chimichurri sauce. Different recipes have the difference of one or two items but parsley is common in all of them.

VINEGAR:
Here we have used apple cider vinegar. The main purpose is to add sourness that lowers the spiciness of the sauce. For this purpose, you may add wine vinegar (red/white), or juice of lemon. All of them fulfill the purpose of the addition of wine vinegar.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Grab a little bowl & add oil of olives in it.
  2. Now add oregano (dried/fresh) & stir well.
  3. Their combo makes a great flavor if you leave them for a little time to develop.
  4. Meanwhile, chop the chili pepper, parsley, and garlic in a very fine way.
  5. Chop all these items in a way that gives a nice finish to the sauce.
  6. Add these chopped ingredients to the bowl of oregano + oil of olives.
  7. Mix until well combined.
  8. Then include vinegar (apple cider), powdered peppercorn & salt to taste.
  9. Combine well & your sauce is ready.

TIPS:

  • For an easy & beautiful look, you may chop your items of the sauce using the food processor.
  • Use dry or fresh oregano, both work the same. Use leaves (fresh) of oregano if available.
  • Prepare the sauce & use a glass jar with a resealable lid to store it.
  • The sauce requires a few hours to sit in the fridge to develop the best possible flavors.

STORAGE INFORMATION:

FREEZER:
You may keep the sauce in the ice cube tray. Place them in a plastic bag (freezer-safe) once they are frozen. Use the freezer to keep them safe for half a year.

FRIDGE:
Transfer the chimichurri sauce to the Mason jar with a resealable lid. Use the fridge to store it for a week or two. The sauce taste will never disturb but its color may get disturbed.
