INGREDIENTS:

For the Chicken Strips:

  • 2 pounds boneless & skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds
  • One tsp. dried garlic powder
  • One tsp. dried onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder

Frying:

  • ¼ cup avocado oil
  • 1-2 tablespoons ghee

For Dipping Sauce (Optional):

  • ½ cup sugar-free ketchup or low-carb BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon mustard or Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • A pinch of salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTION:

PREPARATION:

  1. First, we can make the strips of chicken from the chicken breast with the knife.
  2. After that, we can carefully pound the chicken strips with the kitchen mallet.
  3. Put the eggs in a bowl and heavy cream & whisk them till they combine.
  4. Grab another bowl and add parmesan cheese, flax seeds, onion & garlic powder, almond flour, black pepper, oregano, baking powder, paprika, chili powder, salt, & thyme and mix them with the whisk.
  5. Place a paper towel on the plate to remove any extra oil from the chicken strips.

COAT THE CHICKEN STRIPS:

  1. Take a chicken strip and dip in the eggs properly then coat the chicken strips in the almond flour mixture properly.
  2. Shake the strip to remove any excess flour.
  3. Coat all the chicken strips in the same way and put them on a clean plate.

COOKING:

SKILLET:

  1. Take a large skillet pour the oil in the skillet and warm the oil on medium-high flame.
  2. Then we check the temperature of the oil by sprinkling the little almond flour in if it crackles then it is hot enough to add the chicken strips.
  3. Add 2 to 3 chicken strips in the oil and fry them for 3 to 4 minutes per side till they get a nice golden brown color.
  4. When chicken strips get properly fried put them on the paper towel and eliminate the excess oil from it.

OVEN:

  1. We can make these chicken strips in the oven in the same way.
  2. You just have to heat the oven to 400 degrees F follow the same process and put the chicken pieces on parchment paper containing a sheet.
  3. Bake them for 15 to 20 minutes and turn their sides in between till they get a nice golden brown color.

AIR-FRYER:

  1. Place the liner in the basket and prepare the chicken strips in the same way.
  2. Put the strips in a single layer and cook them for ten minutes at 400 degrees F.

TIPS:

  • We have to make sure that the oil is properly heated and its temperature should be around 350 degrees F. If the oil is too cold chicken strips will absorb excess oil so we can check the temperature with the meat thermometer.
  • If we want to make these chicken strips extra crispy then we can add the baking powder in the dry mixture. And we should have to shake the excess mixture to avoid the formation of clumps.
