INGREDIENTS:

  • One cup of non-fat plain Greek yogurt
  • Self-rising flour, one cup
  • Two tablespoons of sweetener powder
  • One egg
  • One tablespoon of applesauce without sugar
  • A teaspoon of pineapple juice (for flavor, if desired)
  • Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt Spray for cooking

INGREDIENTS NOTE:

Greek yogurt:

  • You can make use of fat-free plain Greek yogurt. It provides dough with protein and makes it soft.

Flour:

  • Self-rising flour is the most excellent flour. You may create your own with salt, baking powder, and all-purpose flour.

Sweetener:

  • Use a sweetener that is zero-calorie and zero-sugar. The monk fruit or erythritol is best in baking.

Egg:

  • Which provides the roles with structure and helps them to rise. To use egg whites may be at a lower point.

Applesauce:

  • It is naturally sweet and moisturizing. Unsweetened is recommended in case of low points.

Pineapple juice:

  • It contributes to the authentic Hawaiian flavor. In regards to taste, very much less. Vanilla: Adds sweetness to it and gives a delightful smell to the rolls.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spray a little cooking spray on a baking dish or muffin pan.
  3. Combine the yogurt, egg, the pineapple juice, applesauce & the vanilla into a large bowl.
  4. Mix the flour, salt, and sweetener in a different bowl.
  5. Combine dry ingredients with the liquid till a soft dough is formed.
  6. Avoid overmixing. The bread dough should be a little sticky.
  7. Roll the dough into 12 portions by hand or with a spoon.
  8. Spatula each of these into a ball and press them into the baking dish or spoon them into the muffin pan.
  9. Bake 18 to 20 minutes or till the top is golden brown.
  10. They should be left to cool for ten to five minutes before serving them.

TIPS:

  • Silicone muffin cups are used to avoid sticking.
  • Finish it with a little brush of plant milk on top to give it a golden touch.
  • Add a drop of pineapple extract to give more flavor of pineapple.
  • In case of a baking dish, there should be a little space between each dough so that it cooks evenly.

STORAGE INFORMATION:

FRIDGE:

  • You can keep these cooled rolls in a sealed jar for later. They are only going to be good for three or four days. Re-cook in the oven for 10 to 15 seconds before serving.

FREEZER:

  • Must wrap the rolls tightly in a foil sheet/use a freezer-safe bag. Store for as long as 2 months. Keep it overnight in a cool place and warm it in the oven before distributing.
