  • Half tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp low-fat milk
  • Quarter tsp black pepper
  • 12 small pieces of pretzel sticks
  • One tsp paprika

INGREDIENT NOTES:

LIGHT BRIE CHEESE:

  • It makes the mini pumpkins creamy and gives them a soft center. Brie melts nicely inside the pastry and gives a mild buttery taste. You may use reduced-fat camembert as per your preference.

REDUCED-FAT PUFF PASTRY:

  • This puff pastry makes the golden and flaky pumpkin shell. You may use reduced-fat crescent dough as an alternative.

LOW-FAT MILK:

  • It makes the pastry brown when we bake and gives a glossy look to the outside. You may use homemade almond milk as another choice.

COOKING SPRAY:

  • This spray keeps the recipe from sticking & gives a lighter version. You may use a small amount of olive oil as an alternative.

PRETZEL STICKS:

  • They work as edible pumpkin stems and make the shape attractive. You may use a thin baked pastry as another option.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. First, warm the oven to 400°F and cover the sheet with baking paper, then coat it with cooking spray.
  2. Cut the brie into 12 small pieces and roll the puff pastry into a thin sheet, then cut it into 12 small pieces.
  3. In the center of pastry squares, put a single piece of Brie.
  4. Sprinkle paprika, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper on the pieces lightly.
  5. Take the pastry corners up around the Brie and seal the edges together.
  6. Shape them carefully into small round pumpkins and wrap them with kitchen twine loosely to make pumpkin-like sections.
  7. Put the pumpkins on the sheet and brush them with low-fat milk, then bake for 18 minutes.
  8. Take them from the oven and cool the pumpkins for 5 minutes.
