Chicken Souvlaki

Equipment

Ingredients

  • Chicken boneless 1 1/2 pound
  • Olive oil 2 tbsps
  • Squeeze Fresh Lemon juice 1 tsp
  • Oregano 1tsp. Use dried oregano
  • Salt 1tsp
  • Black pepper 1tsp, or add according to taste
  • Garlic cloves 2, chopped
  • Paprika 1tsp

For the Tzatziki sauce

  • Greek Yogurt 1 1/2cup
  • Cucumber 1 large
  • Salt 2tsp, or according to taste
  • Garlic cloves 2, chopped
  • Fresh mint 1tbsp
  • Fresh dill 1/2tbsp
  • Lemon Juice 1 tbsp
  • Olive oil 1tbsp

Instructions

  1. First, we will clean the wooden Skewers. Dip into clean water for 20- 30 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, prepare the tzatziki sauce and marinate the chicken.

Prepare Tzatziki Sauce

  1. Add finely grated cucumber into a bowl. Set it aside for 5-10 minutes.
  2. After that, squeeze the grated cucumber to remove the excess water.
  3. Now, add Greek yoghurt, garlic, salt, mint, dill, lemon juice, and olive oil to the same bowl.
  4. The creamy tzatziki sauce is ready.
  5. We will store it in the fridge.

Marinate Chicken

  1. Cut boneless chicken into small bite size.
  2. To a large bowl, add boneless chicken and pour a few drops of olive oil over it.
  3. Next, add lemon juice, chopped garlic, oregano, salt, black pepper, and paprika to this bowl.
  4. Combine all ingredients until the chicken pieces marinate well.
  5. Place this marinated chicken in the fridge for half an hour.

Oven

  1. For baking, we will heat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Next, add the 6-7 marinated chicken pieces per skewer.
  3. To prepare other skewers, follow the same steps.
  4. Place these skewers in an oven.
  5. Bake it for 10-15 minutes. Flip each side after 10 minutes so that it won’t be burned.
  6. Once the chicken is baked, shift it into the plate.
  7. Cool down it for 4-5 minutes.
  8. The chicken is ready. We will serve it with homemade sauces and dips.

Grill

  1. For grill, add the 6-7 marinated chicken pieces per skewer.
  2. To prepare other skewers, follow the same process.
  3. Place these skewers on the grill.
  4. Grill each side of the chicken for 2-3 minutes or until brown.
  5. Once the chicken is grilled, shift it into a serving plate.
  6. Serve this tasty and hot chicken with dips, and sauces.

Air Fryer

  1. We will adjust the air fryer temperature to 190 degrees for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Next, add the 6-7 marinated chicken pieces per skewer.
  3. To prepare the remaining skewers, follow the same procedure.
  4. Place these skewers on the air fryer.
  5. Cook the chicken in an air fryer for 8-7 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Once the chicken is air-fried, transfer it to a plate.
  7. Serve this delicious chicken with dips, and sauces.
