Ingredients:
Keto taco shells:
- Shredded Mozzarella cheese 2 cups
- Cream cheese 2 oz.
- Almond flour 1 cup
- garlic powder 1/2 tsp.
- Italian seasoning 1 tsp.
- 1 large egg
- Salt
For taco filling:
- Ground Italian sausage 1lb.
- Diced bell peppers 1/2 cup
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- Diced red onions 1/4 cups
- Red pepper flakes 1/2 tsp.
- Salt and pepper
- Sugar-free Marinara sauce 1 cup
- Dried oregano 1tsp.
For the toppings:
- Fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish
Instructions:
Keto taco shells:
Heating the oven:
- Heat your oven to 375 degrees.
- Use a suitable baking tray and line it with the parchment paper.
Combining ingredients:
- Use a microwave-friendly bowl and combine mozzarella and cream cheese.
- Put it in the microwave and warm them until the cheese melts or is combined properly.
- Take another bowl, mix garlic powder, Italian seasoning, almond flour, and salt, and mix them well.
Make a dough:
- Add the almond flour mixture and egg to the melted cheese and then form a smooth dough.
- Make equal balls and flatten them in a circle.
Baking:
- Flatten the balls and bake them in the oven for 7 minutes each side or until golden.
For Taco filling:
- Combine the diced red onions, bell peppers, and chopped garlic in the pan and saute them until tender.
- Add up the marinara sauce over the sausage and vegetables and mix them.
- Add the Italian seasoning and red pepper crush, and then cook for a few minutes until it becomes thick.
Assembling:
- Layer the filling in each shell.
- Add shredded mozzarella and garnish with Italian tacos.
