Bread:

  • I used baguette or French bread to prepare this dish. Another option is a rustic loaf or sourdough.

Butter:

  • We used whipped butter. Any type of butter or oil can be used.

Sausage:

  • You can use chicken, turkey, or Italian sausage. Alternatively, you can use pork sausage.

Herbs:

  • I prefer to use fresh herbs like sage and thyme for a refreshing and appealing flavor. You can add freshly minced flat-leaf parsley or rosemary.

Broth:

  • Make sure to use only low-sodium store-bought broth.

Spices:

  • I used simple black pepper and salt to season the dish. Additionally, you can use poultry seasoning.
