INGREDIENT NOTES:
TORTILLAS:
- We use store-bought tortillas, which have low-carb content and are rich in fiber as well. Fiber content helps to balance the carb content and keep us full as well. We have to choose 6-inch tortillas to make these roll-ups.
SIRLOIN STEAK:
- Thin slices of lean sirloin or flank steak are used to make these roll-ups. It will add fewer calories and points but still provides the same taste. We can also make use of shaved steak to prepare these roll-ups instead.
BELL PEPPER:
- Bell peppers add a light, sweet taste to the dish & balance the savory taste. Use a mix of colors of bell peppers, like yellow, green, or red bell peppers, to provide an appealing appearance in these roll-ups.
ONIONS:
- Onions provide the regular cheesesteak taste and a light, sweet flavor. Use thin slices to mix them smoothly in the filling. Use white or yellow onions as you like.
REDUCED-FAT CHEESE:
- Use reduced-fat cheese varieties of mozzarella or provolone. They melt greatly and give the cheesy results. Reduced-fat cheese helps to keep the points low but still offers the same cheesesteak flavor. Use them in small quantities, which is just enough to bind the components.
