INGREDIENT NOTES:
BETTY CROCKER BROWNIE MIX:
- Brownie mix includes the main chocolate taste and fudgy center. You may use reduced-sugar brownie mix as per your preference.
CHOCOLATE FROSTING:
- It holds the crumbled brownies together and adds moisture to the bites. This frosting makes a smooth mixture that rolls easily into small balls. You may use reduced-sugar chocolate frosting as an alternative.
DARK CHOCOLATE MELTS:
- They make the black outer coating of the cauldron bites. You may use dark chocolate melting wafers as another idea.
PRETZEL STICKS:
- These sticks add a crunchy and salty taste to the sweet brownie mixture. They also help to make the handles or details related to the theme. You may use short pieces of pretzel rods as a substitute.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- First, prepare the brownie mix as per package instructions and cool it completely.
- Break the cooled brownies in the bowl and mix the chocolate frosting slowly.
- Take small portions and make balls by rolling, then put them on the covered tray.
- Add a toothpick to the balls and chill them for 30 minutes, then microwave the chocolate melts in 30-second intervals.
- Dip the chilled balls in the dark chocolate and drip off the extra chocolate.
- Put the balls on the tray and chill them completely to set the chocolate properly.
- Turn the bites and include small pretzel pieces to make the cauldron design.
- Melt the white chocolate in short intervals and mix in purple coloring.
- Put the purple chocolate in the piping bag and pipe a small amount on each bite.
- Include purple sprinkles on top and chill the brownie bites after removing the toothpicks.
