LENTILS:

WALNUTS:
- You do not need to fry these walnuts. These naturally include a rich surface on the tacos. Just use a small amount in the filling. This will make sure to keep the WW points lower. You can consider using mushrooms. Chop them properly before using. It is a good alternative.
ONION:
- We pan-fry them with water. After that, they provide a nice natural flavor. These also provide a sweet taste to the taco filling. Using leeks or shallots will also work fine in place of an onion.
GARLIC:
- This does not increase any WW points. We get a savory flavor from cooking this. If you need an alternative, use a small amount of garlic powder.
WATER:
- Since this recipe is for Weight Watchers, we do not make use of oil. This will reduce WW points. Water is fine to use for pan-frying. We also use it for simmering the mixture. Just use plain water or maybe aquafaba.
TOMATO PASTE:
- Tomato paste is useful for mixing all the products. This includes a good color to the filling as well. You may also use salsa in its place.
SPICES:
- When we include spices in the taco filling, they give a good taco taste. These also do not include fats. Caloric content remains low. Also, the WW points do not increase. Another option to use is taco seasoning (salt-free).
